If God is so powerful, why are so many Christians living in spiritual defeat?
Do you know how to appropriate grace so that “sin shall not have dominion over you”? Do you know how to draw on God’s grace so that you never have depression or burnout? Do you know how to experience the great freedom grace gives to resolve your financial pressures? Do you know how to grow to maturity in your walk with God by the power of God’s all-sufficient grace?
The Connection Between the Power of God’s Grace For Eternal Salvation and Personal Weakness
1/ You cannot do something to earn salvation from God! – surveys prove most people think you must work to earn eternal life – people think by good works salvation can be earned – if you were convicted of a murder you could not work to pay your debt! “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NKJV
If you are a Christian, you are predestined for great works by God’s grace!
2 Timothy 1:7-9 NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. …share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began…”
You are predestined for great works by God’s grace!
For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved… 9 Not because of works… 10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Eph 2:8-10 AMP
You do not need to volunteer, you have already been called
“Who were chosen and foreknown by God the Father and consecrated (sanctified, made holy) by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and to be sprinkled with [His] blood: May grace (spiritual blessing) and peace be given you in increasing abundance [that spiritual peace to be realized in and through Christ, freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts].” 1 Peter 1:2 AMP
“…elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.” 1 Peter 1:2
