Commands of Christ

Command 3: Rejoice For Great Is Your Reward in Heaven Part 1 (audio/video)

Why should we rejoice when the world hates us?

Matthew 5:10-12 (NKJV)
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

1/ Rejoice means to have an excitement in your spirit for what God is planning to do through the trials He allows to come into our lives even if our souls are full of sorrow because of them.

2/ Rejoice means to be confident that God is in control of everything in our lives, and He will not allow anything to happen that would hinder our future rewards, as long as we are in fellowship with Him and those around us.

3/ Rejoice means to be confident that when God takes us through trouble, He is preparing us for the rewards of character and achievement that far overshadow the temporary pain of suffering.

Command 28: Deny Yourself and Think Like Jesus Part 2 (audio/video)

The Lord did not say to take up his cross but take up your cross”

What is our cross?

The cross of heavy family responsibility
The cross of a thorn in the flesh
The cross of an unreasonable neighbor, family member, or government…

Your cross is a direct way to die to your desires, deny your own ways and endure the suffering and transformation necessary to sacrifice your life for the Lord and those He calls you to minister to.
